Heh, I was just expecting a prologue, but when I clicked what do I see? A whole COMPLETE story. Whew! Obviously I have not been reading your posts thoroughly. I finally got around to reading ATBT just two days ago (went through a fanfiction reading slump) and if posting a whole novel length story at one go is a common occurrence for you, then I wouldn't know. :X

I have only seen an author do this once! You must be a very merciful author, to not subject your readers to weekly angst in waiting for the chapter to come out. Okay, well, I will stop acting like an idiot and go read it now. Yay!

I finished this about half an hour ago, and now I'm walking around all dizzy and bleary-eyed.

To channel Harry, that was just brilliant!
A immediate OMG review is up at skyehawke, but now I want to talk about it some more... Isn't there a discussion help comm for adoring fans?

Wow!
Just got home and read the whole thing, barely in time not to be late for choir practice - and if I hadn't finished, well, I would've just had to be late.

Squee!

I also got a bit confused with the prologue bit. But I've been a bit out of it lately.

Will so read it when I get home tonight. Actually, will first re-read A Thousand Beautiful Things.

*bounce* Yay for fics!

Oh, man. I just read the whole thing and it's WONDERFUL. Amazing. Other really good things. But now I desperately need to rattle off a ten page paper so actual coherent feedback is going to have to wait.

I want to re-read ATBT first, so I will leave you a much deserved review in a few days once my company goes home.

hooray! i'm here to review. i've only read through chapter 4, because this makes the fourth night in a row this week that i've been up far too late for my own good when i have work in the morning. the end of the sweet making up scene seemed like the right place to stop at 2:30 am.

first, i have to say that i'm SO glad it wasn't actually dumbledore who killed voldemort. that was the only problem i had with ATBT. (you're probably asking, why didn't you say that back when you read ATBT? well, because for one thing it's hard for me to give negative comments, especially about a story i love that much. it makes me feel mean. and for another thing, none of us really knows what JKR has up her sleeve for that final battle, so i hate criticising people's ideas of it.) anyway, i always thought that the polyjuiced!dumbledore solution to the prophecy was too easy, a cop-out. and i still don't believe that the kill is going to be as easy as harry just casting the killing curse, but i think it's the best way for fanfic authors to go about it. i'd rather you not try to figure out what JKR's catch is. stick with the simple story, not a gimmick.

i also loved how you did harry and draco's row. they were such guys about it, completely misunderstanding and second-guessing each other, assuming they know what the deal is instead of trying to understand each other's feelings the ways girls often do. i think that is something a lot of authors, especially female ones, trip up--we forget how clueless guys can be, and we write it the way it would happen if they were girls.

another thing i admire about your writing is how you handle serious, dramatic situations. you don't try to run away from the heavy stuff, but you don't get bogged down in melodrama either. you add just enough lightness to keep things at a real-life level of drama while still taking the serious stuff seriously. for example, when hermione gets stuck in the chair in redmund's waiting room and snape has to pull her up before she can get her shoulders straightened out for the meeting.

and then there is the plain old funny stuff. i laughed to the point of tears during the fashion show, especially when i remembered that snape was in the audience. and then there was daniel calling god "jack" (out loud!). and draco's utter freak-out when he had to act like a muggle in front of daniel.

WOW.

I just read all of DSoT, and I can't even express how much I enjoyed it. I feel like...a lot of authors can do a good Draco characterisation, but not that many of them can do a really good Draco POV, and your Draco POV is just delicious to read! And don't worry at all about your OC's, because they're all great, especially Daniel and his bischon frises.

I really enjoyed how, even though this was an action story with a lot of plot to follow, it still paid attention to the little details that makes the HP fandom so intriguing in the first place, like Draco's wizarding accent, and the spell for muggle families to keep their lips zipped.

A lot of H/D fanfics are get together fics, and they don't handle the process of Harry and Draco actually being in a relationship with each other, so I was really pleased to see some of those dynamics. Most of all though, I'm really happy with the resolution of the whole thing. All of the loose ends were tied up in a way that made the ending very satisfying.

I don't know how much fanfic you plan to write after this beast of a contribution, but I'll be eagerly waiting to read anything you put up for us! Thank you again!

First of all: Congratulations for finishing another novel!

I can't wait to read it when I finally have enough time to really appreciate it (hey, I might even re-read A Thousand Beautiful Things beforehand...).

Thank you for this fic

I read the whole thing very quickly; will read slowly and savour it on the weekend when less swamped at work.

I thought Draco's angst was beautifully done, and I agree that it's great to see H and D having to work on a relationship.

alrighty, i'm back now that i've read the last two chapters, to give more comments! blab blab blab, i can't stop.

***spoilers below! in case anybody hasn't read yet.

ok, so i just KNEW that draco's "magical emissions" had to have some importance sometime! i did the biggest squee when i realized draco was getting ready to have a magical outburst at just the right time.

good job on the polyjuiced!carr bit. i was actually quite surprised, and then i was really happy that i was surprised, because that's always tons of fun. of course i figured out that carr was evil and would show his true colors eventually, but the actual mechanism of it caught me off guard.

i just have to give another huge SQUEE to daniel. he is possibly my favorite OC ever. his POV sections were laugh-out-loud hilarious...dean "praying in latin," the magical characters talking knowingly about what weapon sully might have used on herself...and this line!! Good lord. Bit macabre, isn't it? And redundant. I mean,
if you're still here, isn't it obvious you lived?
that has pretty much always been my take on harry's unfortunate title. not that i don't also see the serious side to it, but really...*snerk*

completely wonderful fic, especially when combined with ATBT! i can't wait to read this over and over and over...

I was so excited to see this posted all at once. I read the whole thing yesterday and tried to leave you a comment but LJ ate it.

What a fabulous sequel! The things that struck me when I read it: the great characters, the smooth pacing of the story, Harry's kindness and gentleness, and Daniel--oh Daniel! I love Daniel. The OCs weren't bothersome in the least. Then afer I finished and thought about it some more I realized: the story took place in such a short space of time, Ron wasn't there (which gives me a good excuse to go back and read ATBT again!), and I liked Hermione in a fic for a change. And thank you so much for getting Harry to talk to Draco about everything before the end of the story. I so didn't want them to keep that discussion till the end. I also loved the way you "sandwiched" the action in between the two love scenes. It felt right.

It was an excellent read and one I will come back to again. Thanks so much for sharing and for posting it all so I didn't have to live with the cliff hangers.

Beautiful icon! Okay, what a fabulous sequel. I kept holding off to read it till I had time, then broke down and read till late last night and then got up early and finished it. Where to begin? Carr was very creepy, great job with the twist at the end with the polyjuice. The transformation in Draco's mind from always saying goodbye to saying hello to Harry in all that he does, and Harry's gentleness with him is beautiful. The letters got me all suitably anxious and intrigued, a nice way to lay out all the different pieces of the plot up front. Daniel, of course, was so much fun to have in the story, and I loved how he was allowed to find out about the wizard world and how it all happened. Up-close muggle reactions to wizards is so much fun! I am very glad that Harry and Draco got their talk in before the end. One of the things I really enjoyed (as did some others) was the theme of Harry and Draco IN a relationship, rather than starting one, and dealing with their issues. It's one of the things I most prize in a story, and there are so few of them that move into this area (and write it well!). Loved, loved, loved the runway stuff with Draco. Androgeny, pink hair, and headdresses! I just love the thought of Draco as a model. And the Harry and Draco scene in the dressing room. Mmmm. The tension in the story was wonderful, and Harry of course is so magnificent. I loved how Daniel describes what he sees of Harry in their relationship (at Daniels apartment after the breakup). Draco's pain about his past and need to hide it, coupled with Harry's fears about his own past, and coming to terms with it with each other was a beautiful continuation of the theme of forgiveness from the previous ATBT. All the wonderful details - like that Blade restaurant, just added to the depth and fun of the fic. Thank you so much for your wonderful writing, and I am so hoping you continue writing for us. Thank God we are coming up on a weekend so I can re-read both stories again!

I read it! I finished reading it just last night, at 3:00 am XD
I couldn't stop reading it once I started!

It was great!!! I loved the dark, secret past of both. I think at the end, it was redeeming for them both. I loved it. You just proved Draco isn't just a pretty face XD

You so poked my muse to draw some more! Ta! But then, I know there are some Boyd pix involved in those imageries *hee* Ah, but my current situation is tragic. Right now, I'm at my mum's place for a couple of weeks and don't have scanner or a mouce to go with her laptop and is very difficult to colour in Photoshop without one *whaaahh*
The waiting is excrutiatingly slooooow... And to think I have quite a handful drawings to share by now but can't.
