geoviki: (Lichtenstein - history of slash)

I want to thank the folks who nominated my stories for various things going on at the moment. It's so flattering to be nominated - the rest is gravy as far as I'm concerned. Delicate Sound of Thunder was nominated for [livejournal.com profile] hposcars (which I keep reading as "HPO Scars") for "Best Conventional Slash Pairing" and also "Best FanFiction of 2005". There are lots of categories in this one, and it's fun to see the variety. I'm still pondering my choices to add by Sunday's deadline. Also, for another round of The Multifaceted Awards, A Thousand Beautiful Things was nominated for Best Original Character - I'm guessing for Sully?

Since the HP Oscars are limited to fics of 2005, it made me curious about what I'd written last year. Not a very lengthy list, I'm afraid:

Delicate Sound of Thunder - the surprise sequel to A Thousand Beautiful Things. At least, it was a surprise to me that I even wrote one. This puppy took up nearly all my writing time from September 2004 until May 2005.

Never Mind the Bollocks, It's Draco/Harry (Shake Your Groove Thing). Which is possibly the strangest imaginable follow-up to DSOT, which I'd just finished before writing this insanity.

The Law of Falling and Catching Up. I scrambled to finish this for the deadline of the first wave of [livejournal.com profile] the_eros_affair.

Practicing the Same Religion. Geoviki does mpreg! For [livejournal.com profile] merry_smutmas and [livejournal.com profile] coffeejunkii.

Okay, so I managed to come up with all H/D this year. And I think I've demonstrated that I'm not particularly prolific. It's this damn day job.

Totally unrelated - I took your advice, dear friends, and ordered a mojito on Sat. night. I loved it! But could someone tell me how to surreptitiously get the bits of mint leaves out of one's teeth while drinking it?

They're very good. I poked my flist for help with mixed drink suggestions, and this was what they came up with. It's rum, lime, and mint. Everyone at the table liked it, too. Lots and lots of lime slices. And that pesky mint. But yum!

And I practiced how to pronounce it: mo-hee-to.

Yes, I'd like a skid of mojitos! Hahahaha!

My daughter is appalled at my lack of Spanish accent. She's studying to be a bilingual teacher - Spanish is her other language. But hey - I took French in high school. Even if I live in Colorado, I'm excused.

You know, I have yet to ever order the food known as "gyros" because I don't know how to pronounce it the Greek way.

And the British name, Gemma? Clueless here.
