I was tagged to come up with a list of folks I wouldn't toss out of bed, such as Jude Law or Boyd Holbrook. This, you must admit, is a rather tenuous position for someone of my advancing age to lay claim to. I mean, to say that I'd be interested in purely physical things with, say, the actress Keira Knightley or the musician Loreena McKennitt, or even the little known actors Francisco Bosch (Bagoas) or Stefano Dionisi (Farinelli) might send you all into paroxisms of horror. You might allow me to indulge, however, in celebrities more my own age, such as Smokey Robinson, with those green eyes. But you may cringe when I mention the very young blues musician, Jonny Lang. Still, I doubt that you'd find it surprising to see other models or actors included in the list, such as Hugh Dancy or Jonathan Rhys-Meyer. Or even the athlete David Beckham. Still, if we want to think locally while acting globally, maybe we'd all put [livejournal.com profile] adamasoda on the list.

However, to make such a list would be odd, don't you think?

And not only is Jonny Lang cute, the boy can sing: Lie To Me (link active for 1 week).

Awww, what a sweet tale. Don't mind me commenting, I've always been a fan of Beckham, being there when he first debuted as a footballer and watching almost all of his career highlights. I've always thought he was a great guy, recent events haven't really changed my mind either. And yeah, age doesn't mean anything when you're appreciating someone.

I have to admit I used to think he was a bit of a pretentious prat although that was mainly to do with fashion shoots with Posh. Now I'm a Beckham Babe and jump to his defence and I even watch football when he's playing.

Hee, I've always been a fan, due to the whole being a Man U fan, but I must say I never thought he was that good looking when he first came on, what wowed me most was the way he played. The man can play, in spite of the jeers about his other activities.

The man can play

I agree wholeheartedly with that observation. A absolute pleasure to watch. Forgive me for being nosey but are you from Manchester? I was born and raised in Partington - when it was still quite a small and pleasant village.

Nope, born and bred in Singapore. But most, if not all, of asia is soccer-mad. Actually, to be honest, soccer is pretty much a universal game, except in America and Australia, I think. I was exposed to soccer in my early teens and started following Man U ever since.

It's growing here in America, because so many kids play it these days. My son does, for one.

That's a great thing actually. And yeah, I think I read/saw somewhere that USA's soccer team is quickly becoming one of the teams to watch now. Possibly one of the reasons why it was a rather minority sport before is because there're so many options for you guys, you got a ton of team sports. Soccer is more or less a poor man's sport, have ball, will play, so to speak.

Oh, it could be cheap, but we have to make it expensive. Most kids have to play in club teams, and the fees can get unbelievably expensive. Plus travel. Our league encompasses teams that are up to a 4 hour drive away. And out-of-town tournaments with motel stays.

LOL, yeah. I get that. My brother plays though, but not in a proper club, just informal leagues, I believe. And he often goes to a field near our house with friends just to have a game. I believe that's why it's so popular in the poorer countries like Brazil and Argentina, the kids don't have the fancy equipment and etc but they can still play.
