I'm investigating X Japan now, thanks to mayflo and this song: I.V.. It's at the tail end of Saw IV, a movie I wouldn't see on a bet, but that my son saw twice. So now he's playing it all the time too.

I wouldn't say I love X Japan as a whole, but the songs I do love, I really, really love. Dahlia is an awesome album; I'm not as keen on their earlier stuff, though there are a few songs I love to death there, too, like Endless Rain, Kurenai, Say Anything, and Weekend.

I have their entire discography translated here, btw. (Though about half of it is in English to begin with.)

I love the fast beat - they remind me of early English Beat or even Larrikin Love - punk. And visually, I really like the look of these visual kei bands.

I've seen many lovely pictures of Gackt and have a couple CDs of his. He's quite watchable...ahahaha! My daughter walked in when I was watching this video, where he was first engaging with his guitar player, but fortunately before the simulated sex part. I think it may be hard to dance well with one's male member standing at attention?

Wooooow, you're getting close to jrock! I used to be a rabid fan of X-Japan (my favourite song of them will always be Endless Rain for its amazing guitar solo), now I'm all for Japanese male pop-bands with lots of cuties interacting and blinking to yaoi culture *_*

I think I'm firmly within the J-Rock camp this time. Part of my fascination is because of my work with the Liquid Passion scanlation group. And i adore all kinds of music, so I think I've discovered my perfect storm.
