My first time embedding a youtube link...first time for everything. This was pointed out by someone on a music comm I follow. It's a song video by Sigur Ros: two young boys in love. Interesting and the music is terrific.

Congratulations on no longer being a youtube virgin. I remember seeing this last year. The boys are lovely, but the dolls? Creepy.

...was it good for you too?

Hey, how come no one showed it off to me before? *pouts* Still, I thought it was interesting enough for a rerun.

Yes I agree, definitely worth a second viewing. I might have found it by going from link to link.

How's the Daniel fic you were working on before being distracted by the shiny?

Oh, I love this vid. But it always makes me cry a little.

It's really thought-provoking. Plus the music's gorgeous.

I adore Sigur Ros - although I prefer Takk as an album to Agaetis Byrjum - and there's no denying this a beautiful video.

Oooh, I feel all relaxed and calm now. Thank you!

Takk was the first CD of theirs I listened to. I should take it to work and listen to it there, because I can't listen to a lot of my stuff and still concentrate enough to edit.

That was odd and interesting. I think I liked it.

Me, too. I liked the group first, then found the video when someone else linked.

oh, i love this video so much! i first saw it a few years ago, when [livejournal.com profile] shikishi linked me to it :). it made me fall in love with sigur ros, too.

Wow, it's been around a while, huh? I must have totally missed it the first go-round. Still, it's worth revisiting.

Just as a silly little aside, as it seems relevant to HP folk... I read somewhere than when Dan Radcliffe finished reading DH he was driving somewhere and he just sat back and listened to... yes, Sigur Ros. He said something like it was the perfect tone or mood for what he was feeling. Of course, I thought at the time, he must have been going ga-ga at the idea of getting to play a death scene and a resurrection scene. Knowing this video is out there just adds a new dimension or link, in a way, to our HP slashiness.

Thanks for the video post, and may I say, you did it beautifully ;-)

I'm embarrassed at how easy it actually was to embed a YouTube thingie.

Wow, I didn't know the Sigur Ros - Dan Radcliffe connection. When I make time for my big 7-book reread, I'll have to punch it up and give it a listen for book 7.

If I had the time, I'd flesh this out in a fic. It's beautifully done, this video, and the song... wow.

Ooh, I'd definitely read that!

OT, I missed your birthday. Hope it was a good one - my mom says winter has been long and sucky there this year. Snowiest in 50 years, they say. :-(

Thanks! It has been awfully snowy, but for all that, the kids have only had a couple snow days. Bad thing is we're out of road salt, so the last snowstorm made quite a mess. It has to end sometime, doesn't it?

I was so stressed by my day until I took a tea break and listened to this. It was soothing, just like when I get my hair brushed slowly. Um, never mind. But a beautifully haunting video.

I also envy your ability to embed!

It was so easy! Pretty much cut 'n' paste. I'm glad you liked it.

Such a beautiful video. (Except for the father, obviously - what a jarring juxtaposition.) Thanks for sharing.

Sigur Ros are special. I find one of their most ethereal and haunting songs to be "Svefn-g-englar". Check it out if you haven't already.

Ah, maybe that's why it appealed to me so much, because that's one of my all-time fav movies. Although it ends far more upbeat that this vid.

Ooh, I get to use my Swan Lake icon, too!

This is one of my all-time favorite vids but I always think everyone else knows about it too! Would have recced it ages ago...when I was in Iceland this past Sept pretty much had Sigur Ros on repeat on the ipod. They're one of the best bands to see live - so haunting.

You do know the boy love is intentional yes? Jon the singer is gay (and vegetarian!). One of my mates in the know was joking how he's been the downfall of many a supposedly-straight emo boy - basically the musical intensity/brilliance makes them...bend a little. Hehe.

Ok, I admit: I'm a huge fan. Even got the freaking book Jon and his boyfriend Alex put out together:
