geoviki: (H/D TWH art - by fiendling)

Catch-up time for those goodies I've been hinting at.

First up: ART! Here are the two H/D sketches I was lucky to receive at The Witching Hour, by [livejournal.com profile] fiendling and [livejournal.com profile] waccawheels. Fiendling's, although she probably didn't realize it, illustrates my post-ATBT story, Harry Potter and the Slytherin-Coloured Lamborghini. You'll recognize the back-seat smooch.

Then, [livejournal.com profile] rosesanguina wrote me rentboy H/D while we were both waiting in the art line. I've typed it up and posted it at [livejournal.com profile] pornish_pixies. Go enjoy!

I mentioned reading a short story by Neil Gaiman that's a bit of fanfic: it's about Susan and Narnia, The Problem of Susan. Because it's a bit hard to get hold of (it's part of a compilation of short stories, Flights: Extreme Visions of Fantasy edited by Al Sarrantonio), I scanned it and zipped it using Windows (if this doesn't work for you, let me know). It's 8 pages of jpg scans.

[livejournal.com profile] zionsstarfish wrote the best Draco/Neville while I was gone, and I nearly missed it. Here 'tis: Indelible Ink. [livejournal.com profile] painless_j - it's one for your "unusual occupations" list. Speaking of ZS, I wrote three biographies of some of my favorite H/D writers for [livejournal.com profile] hd_directory: [livejournal.com profile] zionsstarfish, [livejournal.com profile] pandarus, and [livejournal.com profile] abbycadabra. The community is compiling a master biography for past and present H/D writers - go volunteer to contribute if you too have favorites.

Hey, lookit all this html - all hand-entered, I'll have you know. Fear my mad shift-key skilz.

I was claimed last month, but the person never posted. :-( I've been claimed again...

Don't you always hand-enter html? *scratches head*

Yeah, ditto. Claimed and abandoned and reclaimed. I feel a little like a rentboy.

Some people use these slick-o programs that do a lot of the coding for you, but I'm an old fashioned kind of girl. I code in the snow, uphill both ways.

I was honored to do it. You know how much I adore your writing. I was pimping your stories at TWH like a pimping thing.

Thanks for the scans of the Neil Gaiman story - I've been looking for it a bit since seeing the arguments about Susan and Narnia on various journals.

You might be interested in reading [livejournal.com profile] rollick's LJ - she's a reviewer for the Onion AV club, reviewing cult fiction and films, and from time to time has really interesting offcuts of interviews with authors that she posts -including ones with Neil Gaiman and most recently Audrey Niffenegger.

Go HTML. I'm deeply proud of my abilities to write things involving a href=

I think the Onion AV club is where I got the details on where to find the story, after Neil mentioned it at the book signing. I was really interested because of the ongoing discussions on [livejournal.com profile] ajhalluk's LJ on that exact subject.

Went to see Mirrormask tonight. I have to say that was the most bizarre film I've ever seen.

Wow, Viki, I just read my bio and... I'm honestly speechless. And that is quite a feat, I must say. Just... *loveyouloveyouloveyou*

Wow. Thank you. <33

My pleasure! I tried not to get all excited at you when I discovered you'd pulled Wildfire off Skyehawke. I pointed to your LJ, so don't snuff that one, 'k?

I was going to ask if you'd like to work on the beta-ing of Wildfire while Emma finishes Surrender the Grey. I have a little time right now.

Oh, I haven't got enough of anything done on the revision. I'm not even close! And as hectic as life is right now, I don't know that I'll have time to work on it while Emma's finishing up STG. Damn work. Why are I not independently wealthy?

But if the inkling does stike me, I'll hunt you down sooner than you can say "Hufflepuff." ;)

Not nearly enough people read her fic, and I try to point people there whenever I can. ITS is one of my favorite stories.

Mine, too. It's fantastic. Love that hot Draco/Justin action! And Fay is a wonderful person, as well.
