My Wishes for The New Year

…that most of the WIP's that I follow move into the realm of completed. And there are some beautiful fics out there that are in process, and I know I'm not the only one pining for additions to these great fics -- like Malfoy, P.I., Snitch!, Resolutions, Ivy Blossom's sequel to her Haven Universe -- there are so many and you authors know we love you! So I'm hoping for a little inspiration, time, and desire your way.
…that my mentor,
isiscolo, gets more of the praise and adulation she deserves. I mean, here is a woman who is not only a terrific writer herself, but is an excellent beta, plus she singlehandedly brings many of us newer authors and fans into the fold. With grace and style. And, oy, we all should look so good on a sailboat!
…that a certain excellent writer, who had offered the fandom one of the finest Harry/Draco's around, re-invigorate herself with this pairing and bless her fans with more of her H/D universe. And she knows who she is! ;-)
…that some smut-gifted writer take on the task of writing the Christmas night scene between Harry and Draco in Mad Martha's The Lodger. She claims she cannot do the honors herself, but I bet there are many of her fans who would love to read the wet details!
…that A.J. Hall
ajhallukcontinue to gift us with erudite Neville/Draco. I feel like I've been to a banquet after I read her fic -- hell, even when I read her LiveJournal. Always something to sink teeth into. Intellectualism reigns!
…that writers, artists, and fans treat each other with the consideration deserved. Okay, so trolls abound everywhere on the internet (I've seen them tearing up the turf on Disney Parks boards – especially during Gay Days at the Park; genealogy sites, where there is a site – gensucks.com – dealing entirely with the fallout; and geology sites where religious fanatics ruin any attempt at discourse for scientists). This week, I saw a snarky, anonymous (of course) comment addressed to an author for a missed period, for crying out loud! Yikes! Try the decaf!
…that I do better as a reader in supplying feedback. Thank you,
switchknife, for your crusade! I need to express my gratitude for the wonderful stories, art, recs, and all-around generosity that every writer, artist, and fan gives with no hope of recompense. What a fine place this is.
