Charismatic megafauna

Stand in awe of my mad online skilz! I have audio and visual delights.
First off, that new icon there? Those are my muses. Actually, they are prairie dogs. I've been waxing poetic about my long daily walk through towns of dawgs, so for those of you who haven't the foggiest what I'm talking about; here they are. Charismatic megafauna. Or, in littler words, cute, furry animals.
The dog that looks like it's about to be caught up by the Rapture is actually signaling to the other dogs that it's spotted an intruder. It's a rather dramatic signal: it throws itself up and then down in a salaam, while making a piercing cry that sounds exactly like an anvil flattening a squeak toy. Nearby dogs will take up the cry. I feel somehow moved by the event. But that's just me.
So, maybe I'm the last person on the planet to figure out where to plunk down my big files. But I'm there, my friends! Recently, I've been hammering on about some of these obscure songs I love - well, you can now download them from www.yousendit.com. I've uploaded these mp3's for access to the first - what is is, 25? - listeners.
One (hu)man, One Vote - Johnny Clegg - the South African artist who wrote so many of the lyrics I stole to introduce my Thousand Beautiful Things chapters. When was the last time you danced to a song about universal suffrage, huh?

A Thousand Beautiful Things - Annie Lennox - the song that my big fic is named for.

Aguas de Marco - The Waters of March - the song that my other fic was named for. This is a very recent version by Rosa Passos.

Outre Lado - Zuco 103 - Modern Brazilian music

Ta Tudo Certo and Mas Que Nada - Tania Maria: More Brazilian jazz, with a bit of an edge. Tania sings and plays keyboards.

Now if only LJ had a scratch-n-sniff feature, I could go for three senses out of five.
