Just to get us all in the holiday mood, here are some slashy short-story recs with a holiday theme. Oh, what a surprise; they're all H/D this time around.

The Way of the World by [livejournal.com profile] zionsstarfish My favorite Xmas fic!

December by [livejournal.com profile] zionsstarfish

Present by [livejournal.com profile] wayfairer

Harry Potter and the Magic of Mistletoe by [livejournal.com profile] novembersnow

Christmas Presents by [livejournal.com profile] riverlight

Let It Snow by Aspen

Draco, Merrily On High by [livejournal.com profile] blythely

Fairy Tale of New York by [livejournal.com profile] titanic_days (Not precisely a standalone, but the de facto ending to his H/D novel, Snitch!) ETA - his unfinished novel, Snitch!

a welcome respite

Oh, thank you, thank you! I loved "The Way of the World," especially down and out Draco and the sweet tone. I look forward to the other ones.

Hi! I followed [livejournal.com profile] emmagrant01's link to your list of holiday fics. I made mine (http://www.livejournal.com/users/kalandor/14582.html#cutid1) some time ago but didn't find the wonderful The Way of the World (which is very stupid of me, really). It really is one of the best H/D Christmas fics ever! :D Thank you so much! (I added those fics to my list.)

Hi! I was just reading some of these recs, and then decided to go read snitch, but on schnoogle it omly goes upto chapter 11, and that was in December 2002, I think. Do you have any idea where I could find the end of the story? Otherwise, thanks for posting these links.

Yeah. In Alex's brain! He never finished it, even though so many of his fans think it's one of the cleverest AU's around.

The curse of the WIP.

You're not joking are you? I might just explode. Do you know how he responds to long pleading e-mails detailing how it would benefit the rest of the world (and my sanity) if he finished it?

You'd be in a very long line. He's not in the fandom any longer, though. There are a few ficlets, though...

and there was a yahoo group, here:

with a couple tiny things. But this Xmas fic is the closest thing to a resolution we're going to see. At least they have a happy ending!
