Recovering - the day after.
Nov. 3rd, 2004 02:12 pmIt doesn't seem to matter how many days-after-catastrophic-elections I experience, they never get any easier.
*deep breath* I survived Nixon. I survived Reagan. I survived Bush the First. I survived the first four years of Bush the Second.
I can survive this. But damn, I don't have to like it!
Not a lot of work is getting done here today. Everyone's doing a post-mortem.
Oddly enough, Colorado, which went for Bush, managed to elect a Democratic senator to replace a retiring Republican, plus came up with a Dem majority in both state house and senate for the first time in 30 years. The progressive initiatives passed as well (increased taxes for mass transit, for schools, for renewable energy). What a schizophrenic state I live in!
