The news du jour is that someone has postulated the discovery of JKR herself, albeit cleverly disguised, on mugglenet, and logged it here:

I don't know if it is or isn't; I tend to be really gullible (I probably shouldn't admit that) and think it could be. JKR has admitted lurking there in the past.

I've seen people ask from time to time: do you suppose JKR reads fanfic? My answer: not on your life. I think she's smart, has smart lawyers, or both (i.e., she's not gullible). Any hint of a parallel plot will bring out writers from the woodwork claiming she stole their idea from ff.net. She needs to stay clean. At least until the end of book 7.

After that, though...

So let's indulge our little JKR fantasies, shall we? You know you want to! Travel with me into the future, a few years down the pike. JKR sends you and me a desperate query - I'm free to read any fan fiction I like now, dear geoviki. What would you suggest?"

Well, JKR - can I call you Jo? - here's my list of stories that will blow you away. These fics are guaranteed to fill you with genuine admiration at their direction, maturity, creativity, and plain good writing. You don't mind a bit of slash, do you? Although these are all very mild, if mentioned at all.
