Oh, to be a Luddite!

Today was useless. I spent the morning trying to recapture an output format option that used to exist on my very expensive geophysical program. I succeeded in making all the available formats disappear as options. And they pay me for this??? Tech support is in Toronto. They've all gone home by now.

On a chirpier note: there is nothing so blissful as being able to write to one of your absolute favorite HP fic characters, and having him write back with answers to your questions. That Draco Malfoy sure is a sweetheart! Thanks, ajhalluk!

Oh, I guess I have to do this, because I regaled isiscolo with a memory:

It would have to be that time when we were were climbing Longs Peak, and there was that asshole who whipped out his cellphone right on the top and called his buddy just to natter on about being on the top of a mountain, and you chucked that rock perfectly and took out his phone. Man, his face as it went over the edge - I'll never forget it.

I could go for that. But the distance is unbreachable at the moment. I was so hoping I'd get sent off to Reston next month (our HQ is there) so I could meet her. I am a serious admirer, but I'm trying not to scare anyone with my fervor. Still, I am proud to be in a fandom with authors of her caliber in it.

So if you could tip one back from me, I'd appreciate it. I'm a red wine fan myself.
