If you look over at my calendar it seems like I'm posting all these entries that you can't see. I bet you're thinking, "Beotch! You're totes filtering me out, aren't you?" Well, no, I'm not. Those are me-only posts I'm staging and that are copied over to
yaoi_daily once a day. They're Miyamoto Kano yaoi stories I'm sharing over there in 15-page chunks. You could join the comm and read them if you are so inclined. But actually, I'm as lazy as I've ever been about posting what's up with me.
It's my birthday, how's that for news? It's a red letter birthday, too, not because it ends in a zero or anything numerically cool, but it is what I have been calling my K.M.A. birthday. I can now retire from my job with full benefits, whee! So they better be nice to me or I'll leave, and then they can K.M.A. Bwahahaha.....
Thanks to
shezan and
bryoneybrynn for the v-icons, and to
rickey_a,
pir8fancier,
titti,
gmth,
dana_aeryn,
photoash,
alisanne, and
dacro for the birthday greetings. I don't deserve them, being the sort who utterly forgets everyone else's birthday like the rotten friend I am (for example, Happy Birthday on the 14th, Monday, to Titti!), but I'm grateful you're all better women than I. m(_ _)m
So how did I spend my big day? First at work and then at the dentist, getting a broken tooth repaired. ddddrrrrrriiiiilllllll!!!! My tooth gave up its ghost on Sunday, when I was doing much more fun things, to wit: spending the night at the historic Oxford Hotel downtown, getting a full massage, having a wonderful tilapia dinner (it was the post-meal candy mint that did in the tooth, btw), listening to live jazz and imbibing a drink called, no shit, "Japanese Sex," waking up late, and checking out the exhibit on Ghengis Khan at the museum. Today was the only time my dentist could see me, and he's leaving town next week. I wasn't in any pain, but you know how your tongue does that thing it does whenever anything in your mouth has changed? Oh, dah de dah, OH! What's this??! It's not normal. Think I'll poke around. Holy hell, it feels like the Olduvai Gorge! And sharp, too. Okay, I guess it's a broken tooth, I don't have to stress too much. Dah de dah de, OOHH, what's this? Oh, yeah, broken tooth. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Like a tongue to a broken tooth."
He is the king of metaphor, that man.
another of his images I really like is the "pearl-handled Texas moon." I forget what song that's in.

Date: 2009-12-17 12:37 pm (UTC)But I am very glad to see that you had a good celebration. If any day deserves a massage, one's birthday does. And huge congrats on the KMA-ness of this particular birthday.

Date: 2009-12-17 02:29 pm (UTC)I know exactly what you mean about the mouth-changes thing. I have a crown and MAN did that take some getting used to. It's like IMPOSSIBLE to ignore at first.
I'm glad you had a nice day and WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT on the KMA birthday. That's FANTASTIC! :)

Date: 2009-12-17 09:59 pm (UTC)OMG, I FORGOT.
And I put it on my work planner and everything - LJ was most helpful with the reminder email, and you've been on it for a few days.
It helps to look ahead on my work planner.
Pls to be forgiving me?
*pleading eyes*
*wishes you many happy returns and many more years ahead*

Date: 2009-12-20 06:36 am (UTC)Sounds like your Sunday was perfect (yum, tilapia), with the exception of the tooth. Am with you on the tooth despair...I get my implant completed in six weeks and it can't come a moment too soon. I'm sick of wearing a 'flipper' tooth!
Cheers again for your B-day!!

Date: 2009-12-24 12:54 pm (UTC)About the archive pages and calendar, other users can no longer see the number of locked posts a particular user makes if they don't have access to that journal. So only those not signed in or other LJ users can see the number of public posts on your archive pages. Then people you have friended can see the number of public and flocked posts on your archive pages. And only you can see the number of private posts on your archive pages. :)
