Awwww. One of my favorite authors just came back to fandom and posted a terrific Draco/Neville (one of my favorite pairings). Go read:

Helenish - Theft of Assets, Destruction of Property.

YES. I am a bad HP fan for not being familiar with her earlier stuff, but man, this fic just ate my evening. It's terrific.

Oh, I'm glad I could assist! I've always adored her hurt/comfort fics especially, and the way she makes me ache for Draco.

I've read it 3 times through myself since I first found it. And now I want to go and reread her others again, too.

I was so surprised to see she'd returned to HP - I pretty much had gone through the 5 stages of mourning for any more HP stories from her. Just goes to show, you never can tell.

Just wanted to thank you so much for the rec. I've read it all up and it was the best story I've read it ages, with all its psychological insight and its intelligent subtext. I love reading about Draco and Neville and hurt/comfort and I cried halfway through it because damn it if us women don't sort of read these things for a counterweight to our own emotions.

Though it was about many others things it broke my heart to see a relationship like that and someone living through that.

So, thankies, Viki :)

I was all weepy too as I read it. Helen's been a long-time favorite writer of mine - I love the way she writes dialogue and the way her characters have an understated way of struggling. Emo light, perhaps? To me it makes it far more powerful than being beaten over the head with angst.

Wasn't it goooood? (she says, after reading it over and over already). I just love her stuff and never expected her to come back to the HP sandbox. It was such a treat!

Certainly! My favorite is a Ron/Draco fic called "Soft Spot for Lost Causes", :

Looks like she has a web site with a few of her others:

And welcome to fandom. :-)

Review, haha

I'm sorry to post this here, but for some strange reason, skyehawke.com kept cutting off the review I was trying to post for 'The Delicate Sound of Thunder'......soooo, I'm gonna post it here! *unabashed grin*

*squees*

I never even realized that things were left unresolved in the prequel until I'd read this. I must admit, you surprised me with the onslaught of angst for so many chapters, but I was so happily diverted with this last chapter filled with super awesome, very long awaited sap. I adored how you filled in Draco's thoughts about what he really felt for Harry, but yet couldn't bring himself to actually say. I think my favorite line from this entire fic was: [Any way. Every way. Always. But what he answered was, "Like this."] That just seems so inexplicably *Draco*, to my mind at least. Loved it to pieces. <3

A beautiful sequel to a beautiful story. I was absolutely enthralled by 'A Thousand Beautiful Things', and this sequel was by no means less compelling. I'm very happy to see Daniel brought in to Draco's world, and was pleasantly surprised by Dean being the supporter for not Obliviating him.

By the way, I think I forgot to mention this in my review of ATBT that I adored your characterization of Dean (and Seamus too!). Too many HPDM fics put a focus on Ron and his obvious Draco-bashing throughout the whole thing....I was happy to see a not oft-mentioned character taking the forefront of many chapters. I'm suddenly a Dean fan, lol, and not just because I too am a 'starving artist'.

The fangirl in me is meanwhile melting into a puddle of goo after reading that last beautiful interaction between Harry and Draco. Such a lovely ending. <3

Thank you for an immensely pleasurable read, once more! :)
