Oooh, oooh, I just made up a new meme. Well, maybe it's more a chain-meme. Here it is:

Post a link to one of your favorite web sites in the comments below. You can expound on why you think it's so uber-neat or you can just link and let us explore its uber-neatness ourselves. Then post either that same link or a different link in your own LJ/IJ so it'll get passed along. And then we'll all have a bunch of new links to entertain us and keep us from doing all those important things that we really ought to be doing instead and...oh, wait. Don't listen to me, just add your site.

Here's mine:

Dinosaur Comics

This is just the kind of humor that appeals to me. Every day the writer uses the same images and characters to tell his story. Plus, bonus, if you hover your mouse on the comic, you get a second punchline. What's not to like?

ETA: Because it's my meme, I'm giving you two sites, ahhaha!

Second Hand Songs - A searchable archive of songs and all artists who've covered them. Aren't sure whether or not you're listening to the original? Check this site! I use it a lot.

I love A Softer World. The comics are just as often a punch in the gut as they are funny, and the photography is awesome. (And bonus, Joey Comeau, the writer, is good friends with Dinosaur Comics' Ryan North.)

I'd never seen that one - and it is kind of like tough love, huh? Nice!

Garfield minus Garfield

When Garfield is taken out of his comic strip, it's transformed from a trite and repetitive series of gags to existentially hilarious ruminations by Jon, Garfield's depressed, lonely owner. Strips like this one crack me up.

This comic is such a brilliant idea and so much better than Garfield with Garfield ever was. *bookmarked*

The best, most beautiful and enchanting flash game of all times. Don't forget to turn up your volume: Samorost. There's also Samorost 2.

OMGOMG, what a bizarre and fun site! I can see my free time being gobbled up with it. I've made it to the third screen, but I made myself stop and do my other tasks first....

It's pretty short, don't worry. About a dozen stages each part.

I love Photoshop Disasters.

I used to work in marketing and one of my responsibilities was proofing ads before they went out to print. So I suppose there's a certain schadenfreude at work, howling at some of the brainless stunners some people try to pass off on the public.

Okay, now I don't feel nearly so bad with some of my Photoshop howlers - and those were only for my own enjoyment!

Proof that I'm old: The info sidebar said something like 'Did you know that "Whiter Shade of Pale" by the Black Label Society was originally recorded by Procul Harum?' I didn't know that it was recorded by anyone ELSE but Procul Harum. Great site. *bookmarks*

I love The Speech Accent Archive. I've spent way too much time there looking up different accents.

Yay, I love Dinosaur Comics!

The math nerd in me is totally obsessed with graphjam (http://graphjam.com/) lately. And (The Customer is) Not Always Right (http://notalwaysright.com/) reminds me how incredibly delighted I am to no longer work in retail.

Oh, yes! Combining math with contemporary culture is a sure-fire way to make me laugh! Thanks for both links.

You....you have a slashy Dinosaur comix icon! You win!

Glad you like it! The creator is very fond of Dinosaur Comics, so I thought it might hit home.

I'm doing pretty good. Yes, I'm back home with the folks. Graduated college about a year and a half ago. Doing a little freelance graphic design and on-call Adobe program instruction. I'm the regional Junior Youth Empowerment coordinator, and I've discovered that I really like cooking but dislike strict recipes.

I frequent LJ infrequently these days, and my flist even more rarely, so what's new with you?
