Okay, you lucky Londoners. Miyavi is coming to rock your fair city on June 25th at the Astoria, and there are still tickets available. Don't say you weren't told.
Ummm. *blushes* Will you kick me off your flist if I tell you I had to google Miyavi to see if he was a boy or girl. Very pretty, like Gackt. There you go, M/G slash. :)
Oh, don't think I haven't already thought of that. Miyavi, Gackt, and Yoshiki are all in a band together - S.K.I.N - which is like the trifecta of my current hot men. Miyavi, in an interview, has admitted kissing Gackt on stage, but then he kisses all his bandmates onstage eventually.
Wow. I haven't heard anything by him for years, he's improved a lot! I do think he's one of the most sensual men ever, and after watching this vid I know why I like Maggie Gyllenhall so much!
His new CD is really good - "This iz the Japanese Kabuki Rock". He's been studying American blues musicians (he mentions that on his MySpace) and I can tell.
Sadly, I'm going to be in northern Michigan at my husband's family reunion. It's so tempting, though. But I'd really like to see X Japan in NYC in September....(or in Paris in July, I think?)
Yeah, I don't even wear makeup at all, so they all look way better than I do.
OMG, and he's coming to Chile, too! He's coming on May 21st!! I'm green with envy >_< And Londoners are so lucky too. And so are Newyorkers for the X-Japan Madison Square Garden gig XD
You're right, though. The greeting's not there any more.
I wonder if he meant: 'girls mostly'. Because 'girls at most' isn't clear English at all. And 'girls mostly' is very slashy, ne? Because it leaves lots of room for boys too!
Well, he's coming to California as well, but that's not much closer for me when you get right down to it. I figured my California friends are so with it and cool that they already knew.
I'm in the Philippines, and Jpop/rock, though there are a lot of supporters here, isn't THAT MUCH popular to have the likes of Gackt, L'arc, Miyavi (or JE boys for that matter) coming here. Then again, being in Asia, we ARE closer to Japan but the fares, lol. ^^;
For a moment there I thought you meant the London where *I* live...but then I realised you meant London England. *sniff* and I miss Miyapichuu. I haven't seen him in years. He really is a sweet boy, and so talented.
and...*fangirlmode* He's DREAMY. He smells good, he has amazingly soft hands for a guitarist, and ZOMG he's so sweet!
I guess I'll get over not getting to go see him on June 25th. Eventually.
So, hey, how do you happen to know what he smells like? And how soft his hands are, huh? You must tell us everythign you knkow, yes!
Okay, here's some odd synchronicity. My husband and I were talking about Teraplane Blues by Robert Johnson at dinner a few hours ago, and I looked on your user info page and you've just been listening to that. What are the odds?
Hehe. Because about 6 years ago, when I was a single gal I managed to finagle a (brief) meeting during which I fawned over Miyavi, and he was polite and asking me where I was from, why I was visiting Japan and so on and so forth. And then after I finally let go of the poor boy, I walked into a lamppost from my absolute delirium. (I don't think he saw that. He'd gotten into a van with dark windows...)
Hehe. The odds are astoundingly unlikely...but go figure!
Wandered over from Isiscolo's music post and have been listening to Miyavi. (What a Wonderful World at the moment) Interesting without a doubt. His solo guitar intro to Selfish Love tho? absolutely awesome. Reminded me of one of my guitar heros Michael Hedges (RIP) in the way they use the entire instrument.
Blues Rock isn't necessarily my favorite genre. I tend towards the more melodic and harmonic. But a kick ass guitarist? oh yeah. My 2 ex husbands are both musicians. and both of my sons are too.
Cute little bastards! :) both... my sons AND Miyavi :)
I like all kinds of music...a lot!... and just fell hard into J-Rock about 6 months ago. It's like finding another country in the world that you've never known. I found Miyavi because he's in a new supergroup of Japanese megastars, S.K.I.N., which includes Yoshiki (from X Japan), Gackt (from Malice Mizer and from the bedrooms of millions of Japanese girls), and Sugizo (from Luna Sea).
These two songs are a little out of the ordinary for Miyavi - he usually plays a Japanese version of hip-hop, only more melodic, I've found. Some ballads, too - J-rockers aren't afraid to show their emo side.
If you need guidance on box.net and such, give me a holler. I use them a lot.
My youngest son's partner is Asian (Hmong) and is crazy about all things Japanese. When I told her that I'd just heard Miyavi she knew ALL about him and told me how sad she'd been when she missed his concert... because she and my son were at The Pillows concert instead.
When I get back I'll have to hook you up to her Vox account where she's all fangirly about those hot little Jboys =)

dutifullywith you.I find it slightly annoying that all these pretty Japanese boys seem to have far better make-up skillz than I do.

Hee, he's "muchas gracias" sounds quite cute <333

Sooo... so how is his name Miyavi, anyway, when there isn't really the letter 'V' in Japanese?
no subject
The V in his name sounds exactly like B. In Japanese, there's no real or apparent distinction between Miyavi or Miyabi.

Attractive Type: Girls at most
Does this mean he likes boys at least?? XD Let me show you it, my slashy brain. It interprets everything the other way round XD
Ack, the vid seems to have been removed T_T
