My first car was an off-white, 1967 Dodge Dart, with the manual gear shift on the steering column, that cost me all of $325. I drove that car from Michigan to California and many, many points in between for a couple of years. I had a tape deck added. It was fairly reliable, although I did once lose the brakes coming down from Bryce Canyon and had a leaky radiator driving through Nevada in June.
