Thanks to so many of you, dear flist, for the snowflake cookies! That was really fun. I didn't manage to reciprocate in time, though, so forgive me for that. I spent the day trying to distract my daughter from thinking about how her fiance dumped her on Thursday, leaving her with a broken heart and a useless plane ticket to Bogota, Colombia, for Christmas. And her useless best friend left her hanging all weekend with vague promises of getting together and then never bothered to turn on her frigging phone to let her know she was flaking out yet again. And her dancing friends all bailed because it was cold and snowy. So I was doing a lot of mothering. Poor thing. I feel so bad for her, but seekritly Mr Geoviki and I are relieved that she won't be marrying this guy and moving to Colombia forever, which was a very real possibility only last week.

Did I mention it's cold? It's...6 (F). That''s -14 C. It's been really cold like that this month and especially this week. I just got home and my feet have been freezing cold for a few hours. When I'm done posting, Imma go blow-dry my poor tootsies to get them warm again.

Tonight we went to hear Rick Steves, the travel writer/PBS host. I adore his books and videos, and he's even more relaxed and entertaining live. Our public library had a free night featuring him; there were probably 900 people there, they said.

Man, I knew I had more to say than this. My brain must have frozen as well....
