Dancing in the Dark
Oct. 23rd, 2007 05:24 pmWell. Huh. Guess I pretty much misjudged that one, as I watch that last story of mine sink without trace. My notion was that writing something that had no fandom would open up the audience and that everyone could read it. Instead, it had no fandom, therefore almost no-one read it. (Er, or else everyone thought it sucked like a Hoover and they're being silently polite). There's 3 months of writing I'll never get back.
(ETA: Seems like I basically made a confused hash of explaining what it was when I posted it. The plot and characters are from a manga that's a single story. I rewrote it into a narrative. So no, you don't have to know jack about the story before reading, but you can download the manga and compare after the fact. Your essays will be due in 2 weeks and will make up 75% of your grade.)
So, for your further entertainment (says someone who's clearly dying on stage), here are some links to other ill-advised adventures:
Omodern is a Scandinavian(?) site with two delicious photo choices: bad interior designs of 1974 (check out the combo kitchen/stable!), or horrendous pop group photos of the same era. Enjoy, kittens.
And to top it off, we have covers that should have been left uncovered. You don't have to download; box.net lets you just listen.
Tainted Love - Max Raabe & the Palast Orchestra (Gloria Jones/Soft Cell cover)
Terry Edwards - Girls and Boys (Blur cover)
Mike Flowers Pop - Wonderwall (Oasis cover)
Edward Furlong - People Are Strange (Doors cover)
Bill Murray (Nick Winters) - Star Wars Theme
ETA: OMG, I almost forgot this gem: Pastel Vespa - White Wedding (Billy Idol cover)
Thanks, you've been great. I'll be here all week. Don't forget to tip your waitstaff.
