Not HP fandom, if you were wondering.
Jan. 22nd, 2006 06:35 pmThe weekends are too damn short. YMMV.
I just ripped myself some CDs guaranteed to send my son into spasms of apoplexy when I run him around town. He insists on turning off the car stereo before opening the door.
I've been hoovering up songs like nobody's business lately. And I've organized them, and lo and behold - I have enough for an 80's dance club mix! Let's share! Got anything cool for me - just link it here.
This song will always and forever remind me of the ball at The Witching Hour. Bless your cotton socks,
nmalfoy! The Weathergirls - It's Raining Men. I can see you singing it still,
amanuensis1.
I've loved Aretha Franklin since I was a little bitty Geoviki in Detroit, and she was all that. She's still all that. And paired with Annie Lennox, how can I keep from dancing? Sisters Are Doin' It For Themselves
Okay, I missed George Michael and The Smiths in the 80's but I didn't miss Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music! Let's Stick Together. Morrissey claims there was only one great British album, and that was by Roxy Music. Of course, Morrissey is a pretentious wanker at times, but I agree that Roxy's something special.
David Bowie, incarnation #3 - Ziggy Stardust. I love
ajhalluk's concept of David Bowie as Draco, although it may be more his Thin White Duke incarnation she may have in mind. This song had been a part of my history for decades, though: She said she had to squeeze it..but she...and then she... Suffragette City.
