I'm behind (again). Behind on sending reviews, on reading fics, on betas I owe, on congrats, on reassurances, on sending thanks. Forgive me.
First, thank you to some readers of At the Round Earth's Imagined Corners who nominated it at
hp_journos. I didn't expect even to be mentioned with these stories, since my fic is usually too long and is never posted on LJ or is too odd (like that Jude Law thing, Comfortably Numb, or the even odder Call Me Dracona). And, in the way these things go, my story is pitted against some really wonderful stories, including the one I nominated and adore,
helenish's Soft Spot for Lost Causes.
Okay, everyone in the eastern US must avert their eyes for this part. We had a glorious weekend in Denver. Sunny. Too warm for coats. I know everyone thinks our weather is perpetually snowy and cold in the wintertime. Actually, those snowy, blizzardy Monday Night Football scenes are all faked so that you will see them and make plans to come skiing and spend all your money here. Also, we don't want to encourage any more of you midwesterners to move here (cough*likeIdid*cough). On Saturday we caught the last weekend of a terrific exhibit of Egyptian artifacts. Two basketball games on Sunday.
It's reader participation time.
ajhalluk brought up the subject of infidelity in fanfic. I remember a chat where someone (or a few someones) said they'd rather read angsty character death than infidelity. Judging from how few fics use this theme, I suspect this is a widespread opinion - is it? Does it matter to you whether or not it occurs between the main pairing? Or your OTP? Or would you rather off your poor character rather than see him betray his true love?
Oh, look, my very first LJ poll!
