San Vicente

Here's one of my few writing secrets: In addition to using adverbs (she said snarkily), I use songs.

I am listening to "San Vicente" by Milton Nascimento; this song is the basis of the final Voldemorte-Harry battle scene from my fic-in-waiting. What? You never thought to use a Brazilian song about the 1970's political unrest in Brazil as the basis of an HP fic? Why ever not? See ---

And you never thought to use a South African rock song about the Warsaw uprising of 1943 as the basis of a Dean Thomas betrayal scene? Heh. I have.

Current word count of said fic: 64,000.
Current status of said fic: 3/4 done with first draft. Needs lots of revision.
Expected release date: Maybe April?

I got some LJ reading done today. My son, who was supposed to go on a 5 mile hike, instead spent the day driving the porcelain bus - aka puking. This is a little tricky for us - he is a type 1 diabetic (previously known as juvenile diabetes). It's imperative that his insulin matches his meal intake. Hard to do when any intake lasts about 10 minutes.

And we are having a face-to-face Margarita lunch tomorrow among us Colorado HP-ers. I'm so living in anticipation. I get to meet Isis! And others!
