Happy LJversary to me
My 10-year LJversary is coming up this Friday. Ten years! I have
isiscolo to thank for my initial invite (back when one needed an invite to actually join). Remember how you had to ask me twice, Isis, after I turned you down the first time? Sheesh!
Little did I know how much my life would change just by joining LJ and getting involved in Harry Potter fandom. I thought that getting back in touch with my creative side by writing stories would be the main result. Instead, the unexpected outcome was that I ended up making a ton of new and wonderful friends from all over the world. I want to let you know how much this means to me. I've been lucky enough to have met many of you, I've visited you in your homes or you've come to see me here in Denver. I wouldn't trade the past 10 years for anything. In fact, I still get together annually somewhere in the US with a group of women I met right here (and then met live at cons). A couple of weeks ago we met up in Santa Cruz for a long weekend of fun and conversation, and I hope we continue until we're old and gray. Or, well, older and grayer.
Even though I haven't written fanfic in a while, I still come here to read posts all the time. Most of you have moved on to new fandoms or even no fandoms, and you don't show up here. I understand. Sometimes I've followed you into your new interests – manga, anyone? I struggle to keep up with TV fandoms, though, since I don't have the patience to watch TV these days, but I still get a charge out of your enthusiasm for new things.
Anyway, I just wanted to let everyone know how much your friendship, encouragement, and love have changed me for the better. *tosses confetti*

Likewise, sweetie. My ten-year LJ anniversary is next August, and I could pretty much paraphrase almost everything you've written here. We came for the fandom, but stay for the friends.
You've all enriched my life much more than I ever could have envisioned. Life takes you by surprise, that way.

I had to look it up, but apparently I've been on LJ for 11 + years.
What a wild and crazy ride this has been. As Cordelia said, the friends I have made here have enriched my life substantially and in ways I would never have dreamed possible.

I'm blessed to have met you, and Cordelia, and everyone!

It was one of the highlights of my blogging experience to meet you in person and discover just how amazing you are.
:D

I see that NightS is your current top favorite. Mine, too! It's just the perfect combination to me, and I especially like how YK chose the seme-uke roles. Have you heard the CDs? Hozumi has a voice like liquid sex. I'm really hoping she continues this series, especially after the tantalizing '3 months after', where things are getting "pretty serious."
I spent the past few days inhaling "Loveless." Or at least the books I had found in a library sale; the rest are on their way from Amazon. And then I watched the manga, too.

And after I let you persuade me to join Facebook (heh!) I discovered that now my friends there consist of my aging aunts and my kids and co-workers - definitely not a slashy-positive venue!
So here I stay.

You are one of the people I had in mind when I wrote this. Never would I imagine that I would get to meet you, my fav HP writer, let alone host you here in my home. I'm still dazzled by your talent, intellect, and education but I try to act normal around you so you won't find me too odd. Hope the act is working, heh.

I still remember meeting you for the first time and how tickled I was that you were so nice to me. *yanno you were the big name and I was/am the little runt in the pool*
Glad to know you're still around. ♥
