Oh goodness, I hope your sinuses clear out. I find I am so much less tolerant of new kinds of illness. My ongoing allergies and minor gastric problems I manage with equanimity, but when I get, say, a headache, it drives me wild because they are so rare for me. Our worst ER experience was bringing home bedbugs a couple years ago. Honestly, sinuses are easier to treat. Feel better, and make sure they are really clear before you fly anywhere.
Hearing about your mother once again reminds me to be grateful for how sensible my mother can be. She's still quite eccentric, but at least she eats healthily. Once we nagged her into hearing aids and dentures, she has been doing quite well. She's 82 in a few months. I hope your mom shapes up!
