Inauguration
What a great day.
I watched the events from my office. Like a kajillion other people, I tried to watch the live stream on internet MSNBC, which froze at critical moments. Panicked, I hauled out my old Sony radio and tuned in to the words while watching a choppy video version of the speech. Yes, I got weepy, several times.
Tom Brokaw obliquely pointed out the resemblance between Dick Cheney in his wheelchair and Dr. Strangelove, heh. (Dick apparently messed up his back yesterday moving boxes.)
The photos of W and Cheney in the lobby of our government building were gone this morning before we got there. ETA: The official new pictures are still not there, but someone put up a small version of the Shepard Fairey "Yes We Can" one where they will go.
They didn't play this, but they could have: America the Beautiful - Ray Charles

And yeah, Dick Cheney as Dr. Strangelove was just too perfect. All I can say is good riddance to Bush and all his cronies. Don't let the White House door hit ya on the fanny on the way out.

Hey, I even loved Aretha Franklin's hat.
