Always on the lookout for some smooth jazz, so downloaded the McCann - very nice peice, thank you.

I'm following "Shadow of His Wings" also, and although its not strictly a wip, I very much look forward to the second book of "Cambiare Podentes" - but the thing is, I don't see as many WIPs on LJ as I used to, or perhaps I'm just not catching them. A year ago every second writer on my Flist was putting out wips, and now there are hardly any. Or maybe they are posting them screened or to special lists or on archives, I dunno.

Also, I think it helps if they put up notes now and then to let people know they are still working on them. That way you are not only reminded of its existance but informed they haven't dropped it. I think summaries are good in the posts, too, because readers like me (bright as a chipmunk)can sometimes forget what the damned thing was about...
