I've found that it's usually easy to avoid publicly assuming gender until one is sure, but in my mind I've found that the general assumption has become female whether I like it or not.

I was eaten by the last weeks of classes, exams, and then the early summer is usually a Time of Little Internet.

I'm staying with some friends in SC this summer, taking a summer course and maybe learning to drive. Happily, they have internet and so I may be able to resume LJ more regularly. Even if I don't post much, though, it's generally safe to assume I'm keeping up with my flist.
