I really think you're right about the loss of our fannish culture, and I get really maudlin and emo about it on occasion. Still, it's better to have squeed and lost than never to have squeed at all, or something like that. It was a special thing, and a special time, with special people. I'm really glad we've managed to hang on to part of it, anyway, and it really comes down to the people when all is said and done. *mwah*
