movie rec on a snowy Friday

Yesterday, it was 65 degrees and I was running around sans coat. Today...well, suffice it to say I just came in from shoveling nearly a foot of snow. This is what happens to places without nearby oceans to mitigate weather changes, I'm just sayin'. Both Mr. Geoviki and I planned for it, though, so we worked from home today. Only I'm no longer working; I'm drinking Grand Marnier. Because I know how to celebrate the hour after snow shoveling.

But holy hell, what is up with CNN's online commentors? Every. Single. Friggin'. Time there's a weather-related article, there's a flock of trolls who are driven to make a comment about Al Gore/global climate change. Every Single Friggin' Time. Yanno, I'd pay for a troll filter on these news sites because the idjits are infesting the marketplace and ruining it for me normal people. No wonder I hang around here instead.

I've got a big ol' thumbs-way-up movie rec for you/y'all/all y'all/you lot/younze (choose favorite regional version). It's a pretty, lovely, romantic, Japanese, boy's love story called Ai no Kotodama, and you can check out the details and suchlike right here. This happens to be a site called "Gay Interest Films," which bears more investigation (6 weeks to my retirement and that tantalizing promise of unlimited free time...)

At any rate, not only have I watched this little film repeatedly, I also finally put 2 and 2 together and worked out how to make images from screen captures, like my icon. Fear my mad icon skilz, yo.

Oh, man, the song I'm listening to beggars description. Jimi Hendrix playing a Cream (read: Eric Clapton) song? Sunshine of your Love, FTW! It doesn't get any better. It was just released, too, which makes it speshul.

I should have a LOLcat image here. Imagine one, okay? Or no, better yet, post one in comments!

wow, you've got snow again?!
I just couldn't refrain from adding "Yous and Ye" (used in the East and West of Ireland here respectively) :-P
The film looks very good!! I think I'll download it when I am up in college on monday - got a mean download limit at home.

Ah the weather joys of Colorada. We lived in Conifer for about 6 months and I remember our first day there. On june 12 we woke up to 4 inches of snow.

Jimi Hendrix's doing Cream-interesting. I'm guessing it's pretty good!

Yeah, it was pretty crazy to be in my car with the windows down and almost 70 degrees on the bank clock while the weather channel was texting my phone with winter storm warnings for tonight. It's 8 o'clock and it's effing cold now, though. I'd love for it to finish dropping to below freezing before the precipitation hits, but as I was pretty sure those were sprinkles falling a few minutes ago, I won't hold my breath.

*sigh* Gotta love living in the Midwest.

Hiya. Thanks for the rec. Looks interesting. And you're retiring in 6 weeks! Yay for you. I can tell you though, it's amazing how much that free time gets eaten up.
Cheers

Christ, if that icon is even half as lovely as that movie... *bites fist*

MUST CHECK OUT THIS SITE! Thanks for the heads-up, Viki ♥
